Star Wars Zero Company is set during the Clone Wars, and developer Bit Reactor recommends players familiarize themselves with the animated series, particularly the Umbara Arc, to fully appreciate the game's narrative. The game's protagonist, Hawks, is framed for a failed mission under the command of the notorious General Pong Krell, a character whose actions in the show deeply inform Hawks' backstory.
