SHIFT UP Acquires Shinji Mikami's New Studio, With Plans To Make "A Large-Scale Flagship"
Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has acquired Unbound Inc, the new studio formed by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. The acquisition aims to bolster Shift Up's global development competitiveness and deliver new AAA titles for consoles and PC. While no specific release has been announced, Shinji Mikami indicated the new projects will likely move away from the survival horror genre.
Shinji Mikami forms AAA studio Unbound
Industry veteran Shinji Mikami has founded a new independent AAA studio named Unbound, which began operations in 2023. The studio, currently with about 50 staff members, is developing original IP for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with plans to grow to 150 employees. Mikami also founded Kamuy in 2024, listed as the founder for Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered.
Can GTX 1650 Run 4K?
The GTX 1650 technically supports 4K output via DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b, but its performance is limited. It can handle less demanding titles like Minecraft and indie games at lower settings, but AAA titles will struggle to reach 30 FPS. The card is also suitable for 1080p streaming and casual video editing.
