UNAM orders 58,000 retakes after AI proctoring failed to hold its first remote exam

UNAM has ordered approximately 58,000 students to retake its entrance exam after the first remote administration, which utilized AI proctoring software, resulted in a suspicious six-fold increase in high scores. The university's AI and lockdown browser system failed to detect widespread cheating, leading to the decision to revert to in-person exams for affected students. Experts estimate that nearly half of the students may have cheated during the online test.
