Framework cancels custom low profile keyboard module for its laptops: 'We weren’t able to bring costs to a place where the product economics worked'

Framework has canceled its custom low-profile keyboard module for the Framework Laptop 16 after three years of development, citing insurmountable costs and manufacturing challenges. Despite efforts and developer feedback, the company could not make the product economically viable for high-volume sales. Open-source documentation and firmware have been released for the input module systems.
