US gaming hardware spending in July saw a significant 29 percent drop compared to last year, nearing 2020 pandemic levels due to high prices despite ample availability. Physical software sales also hit an all-time low since 1995, with PlayStation and Nintendo leading sales percentages. Only the gaming subscription category saw growth.
