A dedicated blogger has discovered an unused 'joyful zone' area within Super Mario Galaxy 2's files. When activated, this area causes Mario to uncontrollably somersault and run, emitting happy "Yahoo!" sounds. The zone, named 'CometFireDanceArea' in the game's files, may have been intended for a Prankster Comet mission.

A hidden, unused test room has been discovered in the 2019 3DS remake of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. This room, featuring Princess Peach and pairs of Toads, appears to be an animation test where the Toads perform various movements, including ramming each other rapidly.
