Intel VP says future sockets should last longer and support more CPU generations
Intel's Enthusiast Channel VP, Robert Hallock, has indicated that the company expects future motherboard sockets to support more CPU generations, potentially ending its history of frequent socket changes. This shift aims to offer greater platform longevity, similar to AMD's approach with its AM4 and AM5 sockets, which could make Intel CPUs more competitive for PC builders.
