WhatsApp Adds On-Device AI Scam Warnings, and Nothing Leaves Your Phone

WhatsApp is rolling out an optional Scam Alert tool that uses on-device machine learning to identify suspicious messages. The feature warns users of potential scams without sending message content off the device for classification. Users can mark chats as trusted to disable alerts or opt-in to share recent messages to help improve the tool's accuracy.
