No Smash Bros. Movie In The Works, Despite Mario Galaxy’s Surprise Crossovers
Nintendo and Illumination have stated there are no current plans for a Super Smash Bros. crossover movie, despite the inclusion of Star Fox's Fox McCloud in the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy movie. The companies are focusing on individual film projects rather than building a shared cinematic universe. Director Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri confirmed that character cameos are considered on a case-by-case basis for scene-specific fun.
