Metro 2039, the latest installment in the post-apocalyptic FPS franchise from 4A Games, will feature a significantly darker tone directly influenced by the war in Ukraine during its development. Creative director Andriy Shevchenko stated that the game's message has shifted to focus on the consequences of war, tyranny, and the price of freedom. The game is set to launch this winter on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
