Defender of the Crown: The Legend Returns is set to launch in 2026, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the original classic. Developed by Black Tower Basement and Nordcurrent Labs, the revival will feature three distinct modes: Retro Mode (original Amiga with enhancements), Classic Mode (reimagined visuals and mechanics), and Kingdom Mode (a new procedurally generated experience). The game will also be Steam Deck compatible.
