Ubisoft Milan, the studio behind Mario + Rabbids, reportedly pitched an "ambitious" Zelda spin-off starring Ganondorf to Nintendo. Despite initial interest, Nintendo eventually rejected the prototype in late 2023, leading to the project's cancellation and the departure of co-creator Davide Soliani. Conversations between the two companies have since reportedly broken down.
