The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been surpassed at the box office by the Michael Jackson biopic Michael, after holding the number one spot for three consecutive weekends. The animated film has grossed over $830 million globally and is expected to reach $1 billion. Nintendo and Sony Pictures are also developing a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie set for a 2027 release.
