As its much newer sequel struggles, the 13-year-old Payday 2 is getting a 'massive engine upgrade' that improves performance and cuts the install size in half
Starbreeze Studios and Sidetrack Games are releasing a major engine upgrade for the 13-year-old game Payday 2. This update will port the game to a 64-bit architecture, upgrade to DirectX 11 rendering, and reduce the install size by more than half, improving performance and stability. A public beta for the engine overhaul is scheduled to begin on June 30.
