The director of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Naoki Hamaguchi, stated that the third installment in the remake series will feature a fully explorable open world without loading screens. This contrasts with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which used separate areas. The game is slated for release in Spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
