Indie dev sees Ubisoft fail to bring back Splinter Cell for 13 years, says fine, I'll do it myself with a "short, focused stealth" game "inspired by classic PS2-era games"
Indie developer Benjamin Rose is creating a new stealth action game called Lizard State, inspired by classic PlayStation 2-era titles, due to the long absence of new mainline Splinter Cell games. The game features a short, focused campaign with interconnected levels, an advanced light/shadow system, and reactive AI, aiming to capture the essence of classic stealth gameplay. While Ubisoft is working on a Splinter Cell remake, Rose is proceeding with his spiritual successor, which is slated for release soon on PC.
