Neon Giant Reveals How a Small Veteran Team Built NO LAW’s Dense Open-World City

Neon Giant, a KRAFTON, Inc. studio, detailed its 'Density Over Scale' approach to building the cyber-noir city of Port Desire for their upcoming open-world shooter NO LAW. Using Unreal Engine 5 technologies like Nanite and Lumen, the small team focused on creating a highly detailed and reactive urban environment with thousands of dynamic NPCs and interactive elements, rather than sheer size. Creative Director Tor Frick highlighted how UE5's tech allowed them to bypass traditional bottlenecks and build their desired uncompromised world.
