Starfield’s next massive update is free for everyone, with tantalizing prospects: ‘There are places the team still wants to explore’
Starfield is receiving a massive free update called Free Lanes, which adds new content, mechanics like Cruise Mode for system exploration, and quality-of-life improvements. The update will launch alongside the game's release on PlayStation 5 on April 7. Bethesda's lead creative producer, Tim Lamb, indicated that while this is the last major named update, there are still plans for future content and exploration of the game's lore.
