The Witcher 3 – Songs of the Past Isn’t a Witcher 4 “Prologue”, “Guided Demo” Possible for Gamescom

CD Projekt has clarified that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past is not a direct prologue to The Witcher 4, but rather a substantial expansion designed to reignite interest in the franchise. The expansion, similar in scope to Blood and Wine, is set to launch in 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. A "guided demo" is expected at Gamescom, with pricing details to be revealed later.
