Monolith Soft announced Xenoblade Chronicles Genesis during a Nintendo Direct, revealing it as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive set for a 2027 release. The game will shift to a high fantasy tone focused on magic, known as Anima, and is set in a vast world called Leukos, potentially serving as a prequel to the series. Upgraded editions of Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are also coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.
