WARDOGS, an upcoming tactical shooter from Bulkhead, is introducing a wager-like meta game system inspired by Call of Duty: Black Ops. This system allows players to bet on in-game outcomes within large 100-player servers, with potential rewards for successful wagers. The game will also feature other progression systems, including a trade-in system for in-game currency and the ability to create higher-tier weapons.

Bulkhead, a studio acquired by Tencent via Splash Damage, found the parent company's demand for games with budgets over £50 million unsuited to their development style. Despite initial success with Battalion 1944 and pitching the PC shooter Wardogs, Tencent's scale led to Bulkhead spinning out into a new holding company, Super Media Group, with Team17 and Hiro Capital. The studio is now focused on Wardogs, aiming for a sustainable player base rather than massive AAA success.
Team17 parent company Everplay reports 10% profit increase in 2025
Everplay, the parent company of Team17, reported a 10% increase in gross profit to £76.3 million for its 2025 fiscal year, despite flat revenue of £166 million. The company attributed the profit growth to a shift away from low-margin physical game distribution, with new releases boosting revenue by 80% and the back catalogue contributing significantly. CEO Mikkel Weider expressed confidence in future profitable growth, citing a strong lineup of new releases and acquisitions for FY 2026.
