The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a new HD-2D action RPG from Square Enix that successfully blends real-time combat with its signature art style. The game features a time-spanning narrative where player actions in the past affect the future, leading to an emotional conclusion. Square Enix veterans developing The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales anticipated comparisons to The Legend of Zelda but state their inspiration comes from their own Mana series. Producer Naofumi Matsushita explained that the team aimed to blend real-time action combat with RPG storytelling, similar to the Mana series, while incorporating their signature HD-2D visual style and a time-travel narrative. A demo is available on Steam, with the full release scheduled for June 18.
