Director Sébastien Vaniček revealed that a scene in the upcoming horror film Evil Dead Burn was too violent to receive an R-rating and had to be cut. While the theatrical version will still contain significant gore, Vaniček plans to release a more brutal director's cut at a later date. The film follows a grieving woman who encounters Deadites at her in-laws' home.

Mortal Kombat 2 has achieved a 76% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the highest-rated video game movies. It ranks third behind Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Werewolves Within, surpassing the 2021 Mortal Kombat film and the 1995 adaptation.
