Elon Musk wants any damages from his OpenAI lawsuit given to the AI company's nonprofit arm
Elon Musk has amended his lawsuit against OpenAI, seeking that any damages awarded go to the AI company's nonprofit arm rather than himself. He is also pursuing the removal of CEO Sam Altman from the nonprofit's board. Musk's original suit, filed in 2024, claimed OpenAI defrauded him as a donor by transitioning to a for-profit model and becoming a de facto subsidiary of Microsoft.
