State of Decay 3 Was a “Word Document” When Its First Trailer Debuted, Won’t Have Zombie Deer

Undead Labs head Philip Holt revealed that the initial trailer for State of Decay 3 was created when the game was essentially a concept in a Word document, with very few people working on it. He confirmed that the game will not feature zombie animals, specifically mentioning zombie deer, despite their appearance in the early trailer. Alpha playtests for the game are set to begin in May.
