Former God of War dev thinks "the plan was to do Egyptian at some point," but Sony Santa Monica went with Norse mythology for the reboot as it was "familiar but not familiar"
Original God of War programmer Tim Moss confirmed that Sony Santa Monica considered using Egyptian mythology for the 2018 reboot before opting for Norse mythology. Unused assets from God of War Ragnarok also hinted at a potential Egyptian direction for the series.
