StarCraft Is Officially Back, But It’s Taking A Much Different Form
Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced a new StarCraft game, which will be an open-world shooter rather than the traditional real-time strategy genre. Revealed at BlizzCon, the game is slated for a 2030 release and was met with a mixed reaction from the crowd. This marks the first new StarCraft title since StarCraft II concluded in 2015, though a stealth-action spin-off, StarCraft: Ghost, was canceled.
